Our squad program caters for all advanced swimmers and offers a range of groups that aim to further develop skills beyond basic learn to swim.
Whether your child wants to swim competitively or for fun and fitness, we have the program to suit your needs.
Squad swimming is great for cross training with other sports, for recovery and overall fitness.
Entry to each level is based on personal goals, performance and ability.
Movement between groups is based on assessment, changes in goals and performance.
As with all other programs, technique and stroke correction remains a major emphasis as is having fun and maximizing every opportunity to reach your goals.
This is the earliest stage of squad development.
The squad focuses on extending training techniques and disciplines, further develops aerobic capacities, refines technique and skill development in all four competitive strokes, develops a good work ethic and aims to have swimmers performing district qualifying times.
At this level swimmers will decide if they want to become competitive
Times to be met for 50m in freestyle and 1 stroke
Times tested monthly on 10 x 100m free at 1 min 50 sec intervals
Swimmers are training for Swimming Victoria state times.
Swim Victoria membership required.
Are committed to the requirements as set out by the Head Coach.
Are invited into the performance stream by the Head coach.
Develops all aspects of stroke technique, fitness levels and race skills to prepare for competitions.
Practice sessions focus on competitive racing in an educating environment.
Swimmers are aiming for Swimming Victoria State or National times.
Appropriate for swimmers who:
want to continue swimming for general fitness.
want to practice swimming skills.
Many Swim Fit swimmers continue to represent their schools at a district level.
